Banchory’s James Byrne finished in a tie for 43rd after closing rounds of 74 and 75.

Afterwards, the Walker Cup player admitted he was looking forward to heading home for a few weeks after a tough start to his rookie season.

“I played poorly today but enjoyed the week,” said Byrne on his Twitter account. “I’ve been on the road for 16 weeks now, ready to get home. No fried rice for me for a while!”
