Byrne on Home Turf for Barclays Singapore Open

November 7, 2011 · uncategorized

James Byrne will be right at home as he prepares for one of the European and Asian Tour’s biggest events of the year, this week’s Barclays Singapore Open to be played on the Tanjong and Serapong courses at the Sentosa Island Golf Club.

James explained..this tournament would of course be the biggest in my career thus far, but I am attracted to the event not only for the tremendous field and prize money, but also because of my heritage. My mother Siew Heok Ong was born and raised in Singapore. My Grandmother lives here as do my five uncles, my aunt, and nine first cousins and of course many more second cousins. I have visited my family in Singapore on several occasions growing up and have very fond memories of those visits.

James who is staying at the home of his uncle Kar Lock, can be sure that his Singapore family and friends will be cheering him on when he tees off on Thursday.
