WALKER CUP wonders from Britain and Ireland beat the odds to clinch victory – and deny America an emotional tribute triumph on the 10th anniversary of 9/11.
The US side had sported caps with the words Never Forget in honour of the victims of that terrible day – but it was the home side who delivered a display to remember at Royal Aberdeen.
Their 14-12 victory brings the amateur equivalent of the Ryder Cup to this side of the Atlantic for the first time since 2003.
